A bit about me...
My name is Deborah Peter and I am a fully qualified reflexology practitioner offering feet, facial and cranial reflexology. I am also a qualified Gua Sha practitioner in both face and body.
I have worked in mental health and wellness therapies for nearly a decade having arrived here after a difficult time in my own life, and using the same therapies I practise myself now.
I offer personal & bespoke treatments for you as an individual based on what you share with me, and what I feel you need to make it the most positive and beneficial experience. I believe that we all have the power to make positive changes to our well-being with the right support.
I work from my private and peaceful treatment room in a beautiful rural setting, offering a safe and confidential space for clients to come and explore their physical and mental health issues.
We talk a lot here, but only if you want to. This is time for you. If you don't walk out of here feeling better, calmer and more relaxed than when you've walked in, I've failed. its not going to happen.
I am fully insured and a member of the Association of Reflexologists.
My work centres on the connection between mental, emotional and physical wellbeing. I believe the mind and body are deeply interconnected, and that a holistic approach which considers the whole person, rather than symptoms alone, can support lasting wellbeing.
Modern life can leave us feeling stuck in a cycle of stress, with little time to process our emotions or restore balance. Over time, this can affect both our mental and physical health.
Through reflexology and Gua Sha , I aim to create a space for relaxation, release and reconnection, helping to calm the nervous system and support the body's natural balance.
Treatments can be combined and tailored to your individual needs, with your comfort and wellbeing always at the heart of my approach.
Common problems I treat include:
and ,any more! or maybe you just want some time to yourself to relax...
*It is usually safe to have reflexology and gua sha alongside conventional medicine, but if you are currently having any medical treatment please speak to your GP before booking an appointment.
Any contraindications will be discussed before treatment.
How many treatments will I need?
Everyone is different and the response to both reflexology and gua sha can be immediate or sometimes take longer than one appointment, but often benefits can be seen after 4-5 sessions. Regular weekly/bi-weekly treatments are best for the body properly beginning the self-healing process, and following an initial consultation I will propose a treatment plan that I think we should undertake.
What happens in a treatment?
Your treatment will start with a welcome chat and consultation to give you an opportunity to get to know me and for us discuss your reasons for coming.
Reflexology on the feet is performed in a reclined position on a massage couch, facial and cranial reflexology is performed whilst lying down.
For either treatment you’ll be made comfortable and relaxed with a comfy pillow, warm blanket and an optional heated eye mask.
Gua sha can be performed both sitting or lying down depending on what the issue we are focusing on is. The treatment is performed directly on the skin and you will be given full privacy to undress should you be required to do so.
Does reflexology or Gua Sha hurt?
You might find some areas feel sensitive to the touch, but Reflexology does not involve hard pressing in the way something like a sports massage might. As a therapist I will be aware of the status of your feet, noticing how they feel, the temperature and colour. All these things play a part in understanding which areas of your body - as reflected through your feet - require a bit more care and attention.
Gua Sha is often likened to deep tissue massage, it should be felt but not painful. Heavy pressure is not required at all to bring the desired results and the clients comfort is always paramount during treatment.
Can you diagnose my health problems?
Neither treatment can diagnose or cure.
During a reflexology treatment I may identify particular areas of sensitivity which may reflect an area of the body that is struggling or working harder to maintain your well-being. I will discuss any areas of sensitivity that I find with you at the end of your treatment .
During a gua sha treatment any area of the body worked that is ‘blocked’ will release petechia which will appear on the surface of the skin. Again, I will discuss any results at the end of your treatment.
